April was a busy month for me personally, but not so much for Getting There From Here. I've been ridiculously busy in my personal and professional lives and haven't had time to do much of anything with the site. Traffic dropped (probably due to a complete lack of activity) but advertising revenues were actually up a bit.
Financials
Getting There From Here had $6.83 in advertising revenues from Google AdSense. However, because it is Google AdSense, we won't receive a check until the total hits $100. There have been no new expenses in April, so we remain basically where we were last month financially. Hopefully traffic and revenues will continue to grow enough to cover our hosting expenses once our free introductory hosting period runs out later this year.
Still no donations toward our fund for joining the International Space Elevator Consortium, although the increase in professional work for me means that I will be able to contribute some money toward that. Hopefully within a month or two, we can join this worthwhile organization.
Also no new expenses.
Previous Balance: $-72.24
April Income: $6.83 ($0.00 cash effect)
April Expenses: $0.00
Total Cash On Hand: $-72.24
Total Pending Cash: $10.04
What We've Done
The site was added to a few more Internet directories during the month, but other than that not much happened.
What's Coming Up
We will continue to add the site to various directories. As of yesterday, the Falcon 9 qualification launch has been rescheduled again, this time for May 23. If they manage to stick to that schedule, I expect we'll have some blog posts around that time. We're also working on a series of posts about the challenges and plans for each step of The Plan.
In other good news, we are working to add an additional person to the team who will be adding content and posting his own blog entries. In addition, he may use his graphics background to improve the appearance of the site.
We'd also like to see some more discussion in our forums, so register for the site and share your thoughts.
