The second stage of The Plan is to use proceeds from GTFH Media to start and grow an aerospace services company. The goals of such an entity would be four-fold:
- Establish expertise in the development of space systems
- Develop intellectual property that can be utilized for long-term revenue generation
- Advance the state-of-the-art in space exploration technology
- Make more money to support the next phase of The Plan
One of our early goals would be to cultivate a handful of like-minded individuals with the credentials to perform R&D, probably in the form of NASA SBIR or STTR research grants. A natural transition would be to develop websites and educational games for NASA in order to get the new Aerospace Services business going, and then leverage that work to begin performing small-scale R&D work on areas of interest to the space agency. We'll discuss this in more detail in July, when the new solicitation comes out (although it is highly unlikely that GTFH would progress to that stage this year or even next, unless something really interesting happens).
From there, the goal would be to expand into providing additional aerospace services to the government and industry, possibly in the form of development of satellites, spacecraft systems, or even (though unlikely) the development of our own launch systems.
Even if GTFH does not achieve its end-goal of colonizing the galaxy, any work we do in this arena in terms of advancing the science and technology of space exploration will get the human race closer to that ultimate dream of spreading throughout the galaxy.
